PUNCH AND JUDY.. IF YOU’RE NOT CAREFUL

-

TO go with the ivy on Centre Court, there was tumbleweed blowing through a BBC interview yesterday when Judy Murray (right) was quizzed about the World Cup.

Asked what advice she had for Andy, Scotland’s first mother said: “Feet up, play with the kids and watch some football.

“I am not sure who he is supporting.

”I don’t know that he is supporting anybody because we don’t have Scotland in it.”

At which point interviewer Sally Nugent asked: “Anyone but England, maybe?”

IT didn’t take long before the first televised slip of the tongue during this year’s Wimbledon coverage.

The first live show saw Sue Barker forced to apologise after Boris Becker shouted “you b ***** d” as he joked about his diplomatic immunity row.

Telly bosses might have been muttering expletives of their own as they buried heads in their hands.

ANDY MURRAY might have been joking about being available for coaching now he is not playing at Wimbledon. World No.3 Alexander Zverev (left), Murray’s own coach Jamie Delgado and even Anne Keothavong – on behalf of her two-and-half year-old daughter – all replied to Murray’s light-hearted post after his withdrawal, declaring they were keen to take up his offer.
