An old head on Young shoulders
ASHLEY YOUNG has volunteered to be an England penalty-taker, despite missing in their last shoot-out defeat.
Gareth Southgate has got Young, Harry Kane, Kieran Trippier, Jesse Lingard and Jordan Henderson ready to step up if tonight’s last-16 tie with Colombia goes to penalties.
Young missed from the spot when England lost to Italy in Euro 2012, their sixth defeat in seven shoot-outs in major tournaments.
But the Manchester United wingback said: “I have confidence in my ability to step up and take one.”
