According to a new survey, 70% of soon-to-be married couples are requesting cash gifts as wedding presents, with the average British couple receiving nearly £700 on the big day.

The poll by Post Office gift card One4all also found just 5% spent the money on a honeymoon, preferring instead to use it for work on their home, settling wedding debts and paying other bills.
