Dad’s Army bomb guide goes on sale
SOE calendar A “DAD’S Army” bombbuilding manual from the Second World War disguised as a calendar is up for sale today.
It was to be used by the Home Guard after a Nazi invasion of Britain.
It is among a large collection of items from the wartime Special Operations Executive, including lethal weapons such as a dart-firing pen and a dagger designed to be concealed in a coat sleeve.
The private collection is up for auction in Marlow, Bucks, with a €680 estimate for the bomb guide. ■ Dad Danny Thackray, 31, told his three children to run for their lives when his fishing line pulled up two wartime bombs near Conwy, North Wales.
