Living wage increases by 20c per hour

-

THE living wage this year has jumped by 20c per hour since 2017, it has been revealed.

The rate has now been set at €11.90 an hour by the Living Wage Technical Group and is determined by changes in living costs and taxation.

The hike has been primarily driven by the current housing crisis and the associated increases in rent levels.

LWTG said aside from housing the overall cost of the minimum essential needs of a full-time single worker, including food, clothing, health insurance and travel fell in the past year.
