Boy of two among ferry disaster dead

TERRIFIED passengers cling to the hull of a sinking ferry in a disaster that has claimed at least 12 lives.

A boy of two and a girl of three are among the dead, officials say. The KM Lestari ran aground amid strong winds and 13ft waves, and began taking on water.

Photos show some of the 139 passengers in the sea awaiting rescue off Selayar Island, Indonesia. The boat reportedly did not have enough life jackets.
