ALESHA: MURDER COPS JOIN PROBE
MURDER police in Scotland are now investigating the death of a six-year-old girl who disappeared, amid claims that she “sleepwalked”.
Alesha Macphail was reported missing from her grandparents’ home at 6.25am on Monday. Her body was found in nearby woodland on the Isle of Bute in the Firth of Clyde two-and-a-half hours later. Police are still treating her death as unexplained, as locals said yesterday she was known to sleepwalk. Alesha leaves behind mum Georgina Lochrane, Alesha Macphail 23, and dad Rab Macphail, 25. Both broke down yesterday during visits to tributes laid by locals.
Wendy Davie, head of Alesha’s school, Chapelside Primary in Airdrie, said: “She was a very considerate child and she was popular with all the other children, and was a smiley and a happy young girl.”
