Youths clash with police

GROUPS of youths have clashed with police in the French city of Nantes after a man was shot dead by police at a checkpoint.

Protesters burned cars and threw petrol bombs, with tear gas used in reply.

The full circumstances of the 22-year-old’s death are being investigated.
