Drinks chief: I won’t bottle fight for jobs

-

THE Drinks Industry Group of Ireland’s new chairwoman said yesterday protecting jobs was one of her priorities.

Rosemary Garth vowed to promote the industry which employs 92,000 people and is worth billions to the economy.

She added: “The drinks and hospitality sector continues to contribute significantly to Ireland.

“It is among the largest employers in the country and much of this employment is based in rural towns and villages.”

DIGI last week launched its Support Your Local campaign which seeks to highlight the importance of the industry to Ireland.
