No team has managed to crack the Cody twice in a row
WHATEVER about the outcome of Sunday’s Leinster senior hurling final replay in
Thurles, a remarkable record from Brian Cody’s lengthy Kilkenny tenure has been preserved.
Now in his 20th season, Cody (left) has suffered just 12 Championship defeats, with Galway inflicting a third of those, making them Kilkenny’s most frequent conquerors in that period.
However, no county has managed to beat Kilkenny twice in succession in Cody’s time and last Sunday’s stalemate deprived Galway of that feat, having beaten them in the round robin phase of the Leinster Championship already this year.
