IF the sight of Keith Lemon dressed up as a Kardashian has you rolling around laughing, then you’re in for a treat.
If Keith’s antics leave you perplexed and concerned for the state of British television, don’t worry, you’ll have company.
This is his latest attempt at entertainment as cameras follow his journey to realising his ultimate dream of hosting his own US chat show.
After all, if James Corden can do it, why can’t he? There are several reasons for that, of course. “I’m on a one-man mission to make American TV great again,” says Keith, the alter-ego of comedian Leigh Francis, although the character has now firmly taken over the long-forgotten real-life creator.
Anyone who is a fan of Celebrity Juice will know that Keith’s brand of humour is crude, lewd and sometimes excruciating to watch.
But there’s an admirable selfawareness here. At one point, a focus group of Americans in LA watch Keith’s showreel, including a clip of a man licking Marmite from another man’s nipples.
“What the hell was the audience laughing at? It’s just not funny,” says one. “He’s an unfunny white guy, we don’t need more of them over here,” says another.
Other amusing moments include the appearance of Eamonn Holmes as Donald Trump and Keith’s own mum dressed as Kris Jenner. But you may be left cold by less funny sketches, such as a fight between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.
