Stay young with cardio and weights
COMBINING cardio and weights is key to combating ageing, a study has found.
Aerobic exercise and resistance training together is the best way to slash the risk of illness for the over-65s.
However, DCU researchers found most people tend to choose one type of fitness over the other.
Lead investigator Dr Brendan Egan said: “Regular exercise can delay the onset of many conditions, and while any kind of exercise is better than none, we were interested in whether there might be an optimal form of exercise in older adults.”
