55-yr-old is hurt in petrol bomb attack

A MAN is in hospital following a petrol bomb attack on a house.

The 55-year-old leapt to safety from a top floor window of the property in Dundalk, Co Louth.

He suffered injuries as a result of the fall as well as smoke inhalation.

The man had been alone inside when the object was thrown through a downstairs window at 2.10am on Wednesday.

Gardai are investigat­ing if some type of accelerant was used.

They are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious around the house in Castle Park, Castletown, to contact officers in Dundalk on 042 938 8400.
