Garda probe after man stabbed several times

A MAN is in a serious but stable condition after being stabbed several times in an attack.

The 30-year-old was assaulted at an apartment block on Clanbrassi­l Street Lower in central Dublin at around 10.40pm on Wednesday.

He was taken to St James’s Hospital where his injuries are described as non-life threatenin­g.

The scene, and a stretch of road outside the apartment, were sealed off by investigat­ors.

A Garda spokespers­on said: “Officers in Kevin Street are appealing for informatio­n following the assault of a man during in Clanbrassi­l Street Lower area on July 4. A local man was found to have sustained a number of stab wounds.

“It was not initially clear where the assault took place and a crime scene was later discovered and preserved at nearby St Vincent Street.

“No arrests have been made to date and inquiries are ongoing.”
