The author’s gentle tone has been updated with a selfaware irony and jokes about healthy diets, and the energy is pumped up with dance routines and pop. It’s a madcap adventure with live action, CGI and traditional animation.

Rose Byrne and Domhnall Gleeson are the human neighbours whose vegetable garden is fought over by Peter and friends. A sequel is planned for July 2020.
