Octopus armed and ready for sea festival
Creature is made of recycled waste A GIANT octopus is making waves in a coastal village ahead of a seafood festival.
The 10-metre creature, made from recycled marine waste, is in Clogherhead, Co Louth, for Seafoodrocks 2018.
Organisers hope Octoash will draw people’s attention to the problem of sea pollution.
The weekend of food and music, including rockers The Riptide Movement, starts next Friday and runs until Sunday.
Damien Kierans, from promoters Red Fish Events, said: “We’d like to thank the fishing community of Clogherhead who contributed to the build with their time and materials.”
Festival tickets are available at www.seafoodrocks.ie.
