Hogan council plan shameful
ONE of the daftest moves by Phil Hogan finally looks set to be unravelled.
He was the genius Environment Minister who threatened to reduce homeowners’ water supply to a trickle if they did not pay charges.
His arrogance in that argument was countered by a furious public which saw the tap tax ultimately abolished.
But before he left for his cushy job in Europe, Hogan also spearheaded a campaign to scrap councils, which looks set to be reversed.
At last, local populations across the country will get their voice back. It was outrageous they should have been stripped of it in the first place.
