As most of Ireland basks in the glorious sunshine, former Miss Ireland Aoife Walsh has been hiding from the heat.

With red hair and fair skin, she has been watching her appearance and making sure she is protected.

“As a redhead with such fair skin, I am all about minding my skin and I wear any SPF I can get my hands on.

“You probably see a lot of me in a big floppy wide-rim hat. They are brilliant because they completely cover your face,” she told us. Most people in her profession have to keep track of their diet to stay light enough to ride on race day.

However, the Kildare woman told us: “You don’t really want to eat in this warm weather so it is absolutely fine.

“I am lucky enough to have a light frame, so I don’t really have to watch my weight.”
