Cardigan, well that’s a word we haven’t heard for a while.

The school uniform favourite doesn’t exactly have the most glamorous of images, but that’s set to change. Brace yourselves.

The much maligned knit has become a surprise red carpet favourite with the likes of Claire Danes giving it a Hollywood style makeover. The pregnant 39-year-old actress showcased the look on the Today show a few weeks ago, and I’ve got to admit it looked rather good. Practical and stylish, what’s not to love about this look?

Model Karlie Kloss, 25, is also a fan, taking hers for a stroll around NYC recently.

We’ve got designers like Gucci to thank. Its cable-knit version with the brand’s trademark green and red stripes has been spotted on the likes of 21-year-old model Hailey Baldwin and Jennifer Lopez, 48.
