‘Do more for conflict kids’
CHILDREN’S Minister Katherine Zappone is to address the UN Security Council to encourage it to do more to help kids in conflict zones.
During today’s speech she will speak of Ireland’s role in providing aid, peace-keeping duties.
Ms Zappone will also highlight welcoming 956 children Syria, Afghanistan and Eritrea as part of resettlement programmes.
It comes as Ireland bids for a two-year term on the council from 2021.
