Garda probe as man killed in road crash
Joe Lawlor A MAN was killed in a single-car road crash yesterday.
The victim, named locally as Joe Lawlor, lost his life just outside Portroe, Co Tipperary, in the early hours.
The accident was only discovered by a passing motorist hours later at around 8am.
Local Fianna Fail councillor John Carroll paid tribute to Mr Lawlor and expressed his “sincere sympathy to the family’’.
Another local person wrote on Facebook: “Terrible news lads. One lovely bloke. RIP Joe.”
Gardai, who have appealed for information, placed diversions near the scene. Mr Lawlor was the 81st person to die on Ireland’s roads this year.
