WE KANE SHACKLE SKIPPER

CROATIA coach Zlatko Dalic warned England his side have thwarted Lionel Messi and Christian Eriksen at this World Cup – and can do the same with Harry Kane.

England skipper Kane leads the race for the Golden Boot with six goals going into Wednesday’s semi-final.

Dalic acknowledged the Spurs striker is world-class, but said his defence – which includes

Liverpool’s Dejan

Lovren (right) – can shackle him.

“We have really good centrebacks. Dejan knows him very well from the Premier League,” he said. “Vida, another of our defenders, is playing really well, so I have full confidence.

“Kane’s not easy to stop, but we managed to do that with Lionel Messi and

Christian Eriksen.”

Croatia have been taken to extra time and penalties in both their knockout games, but Dalic denied they were suffering fatigue. He added: “Getting so far gives us new strength and energy.”
