292 waiting on trolleys

THERE were 292 patients on trolleys in hospitals yesterday.

University Hospital Limerick and Letterkenny General were busiest, with 48 and 35 respectively waiting for a bed.

The figure represents a 10% fall on the same day last year when there were 326 patients on trolleys.
