€280k for F1 Clark Cortina

Cortina in action A FORD Cortina raced by legendary Formula 1 driver Jim Clark is expected to make €280,000 at auction.

The car was developed by Lotus and driven by Clark in 1965 at Silverstone and Brands Hatch.

A Bonhams spokesman said: “The car is race-ready. It underwent a full restoration in 2003.

“We believe Jim thought this one was fun to drive.”

The auction takes place at Goodwood Racecourse, West Sussex, on July 13.
