Actor, 40, ‘extremely sorry’ after being quizzed by US cops over row
JONATHAN Rhys Meyers was quizzed by US police after an alleged bust-up with his wife on a plane.
Cabin crew claimed the Irish actor, 40, also smoked an electronic cigarette during a flight from Miami to LA.
His wife Mara wrote on Instagram last night: “Eight months of sobriety and an unfortunate day of travel. J is extremely sorry for any inconveniences caused.”

TROUBLED actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers was held by police in the us following an alleged foul-mouthed altercation with his wife on a flight to Los Angeles.
Just 10 months after he was stopped from boarding a plane in Dublin due to being intoxicated, the Tudors star received a rap on the knuckles from cops in LAX.
The 40-year-old was travelling with wife Mara Lane and their one-year-old son Wolf from Miami to LA on an American Airlines flight on Sunday when trouble flared.
His other half last night took to Instagram to try and explain what happened.
She said: “Eight months of sobriety and an unfortunate day of airline travel.
“We were in South America specifically working holistically through anger issues that result in these kind of episodes.
“When in it... he is not in a frame of mind where he can really even comprehend the repercussions and necessary response to his own actions.
“J is extremely sorry for any inconveniences caused to anyone travelling yesterday,
“There was no argument, just me asking him to not use his e cig per stewardess’ request to me and him not being himself, speaking very very unkindly.”

The Dubliner was detained by LAX Airport cops on the tarmac when the flight touched down but was later released without charge.
His wife Mara added: “It was out of his character. It was unbeknownst to me anything that happened on (the) flight, as I was with my son with a privacy wall up.
“We are home safe and he is feeling deeply sorry for any remote disrespect afforded to me, attendants, onlookers or officers.
“Thank you for your compassion on this ongoing battle with addiction we are in as we need all prayers and good thoughts we can get.
“It feels like a spiritual war and some days like yesterday look bleak and feel tired and broken.
“I am not one to whinge or really speak about problems rather try to use energy to solve problems or spread love or make you laugh as we are all going through our own fires but ... for us, it is an ongoing struggle and daily battle,
“The very highs and lows he is asked and is able to perform at work when action is called sometimes bleed into everyday life and it is unfortunate when it does..
“We are constantly trying to work through and process in (the) best way available and possible.
“All support appreciated. We love you and thank you and wish you and yours good health in your days.”
