Community body gives out €40m
A PHILANTHROPIC body has handed out €40million in grants since 2000, it was revealed yesterday.
The Community Foundation for Ireland reached the milestone in less than 20 years since its establishment, giving out more than €6.5million last year alone. The €40million has gone towards a number of social issues, including setting up the first National LGBT Helpline.
Chairman Mike Gaffney said: “The difference it makes to people’s lives is important now more than ever.”
