Nobel winner widow freed

THE widow of Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo has left China after eight years’ unofficial detention.

Liu Xia boarded a flight to Germany on Tuesday.

Xiaobo was jailed in 2009 for inciting subversion and died last year.

Xia has never been charged with any crime.
