Mum shares tragic final photo of teen

The family of a schoolgirl who died from drugs have released this picture of her final moments as a stark warning to others.

Shakira Pellow, 15, is believed to have taken a blue tablet called Duplo before she collapsed.

She suffered organ failure and died in her mother’s arms of cardiac arrest. Mum Rita Hole and partner Lee Butcher took the heart-wrenching photo no parent ever wants to see.

Lee said: “It is the most awful picture and we discussed whether to release it or not.

“However, we want to say to other teenagers, if you carry on taking this stuff, this is what’s going to happen to you.

“Our Shakira is not coming back from this. This was her life and now it’s gone… it could easily be you.”

Shakira had been out with friends near her home in Camborne, Cornwall, on Friday when they collapsed in a park.

Her family spent an anxious night at her bedside in Royal Cornwall Hospital.

Three other 15-year-olds were also taken to hospital but later recovered.

Lee took the picture hoping to show it to the “bubbly” teen after she came round to press home the dangers of taking drugs.

Two local boys aged 17 have been arrested over the tragedy.
