Did wait cost Jamie his life?
THE National Ambulance Service has a duty to explain why it took 45 minutes to get to the scene of a fatal stabbing.
Instead, it is trying to hide behind the Garda investigation into the brutal murder of Jamie Higgins to avoid the tough questions.
The NAS must explain why, when Mr Higgins was attacked in Shannon at 1.55am an ambulance did not reach the scene until 2.40am.
What is even more disturbing is the claim by paramedics that a crew was 20 minutes away.
These hard-working staff now wonder if there could have been a different outcome. So too must Mr Higgins’ family.
