€500k gold standard for mining firm

A MINING company has discovered at least €500,000 worth of gold.

Conroy Gold and Natural Resource struck the jackpot on their site in Co Monaghan.

The €500,000 discovery was made in the company’s new drill holes close to Clay Lake, which reach a combined depth of 400 metres.

Company director Richard Conroy told the Irish Mirror: “We’re getting out of a drilling programme, it’s turning out very well.

“This is the seventh and eighth holes that we’ve reported and they’ve all intersected gold so we’re very pleased.”
