Firth filmed at bomb site

COLIN Firth and Rachel Weisz shot movie scenes close to the spot where a huge German bomb lay hidden, it has emerged.

The 1,200kg device, from the Second World War, was detonated on Tuesday by Navy experts near Teignmouth Pier, Devon.

Firth and Weisz had filmed nearby for The Mercy, a recent biopic of vanished yacht racer Donald Crowhurst.

Teignmouth was bombed 21 times over four years during the war.
