Killer driver ‘took videos at the wheel’
THE driver who killed Olympic cyclist Chris Boardman’s mum previously filmed on his phone at the wheel, a court heard.
Liam Rosney, 32, ended a call to wife Victoria an estimated four seconds before he ran over Carol Boardman, 75, after she fell off her bicycle on a mini roundabout, prosecutor John Philpotts told a jury.
Rosney told police his phone was hands-free for the call, which he said he ended about 30 seconds before reaching the scene in Connah’s Quay, Deeside.
He said he did not intentionally delete records of calls with his wife who also denied deleting records.
Rosney denies death by dangerous driving. He and Victoria, 32, deny perver–ting justice. The case continues at Mold crown court.
