LLORIS: WE’VE GOT THE LOT

-

HUGO LLORIS believes France are now the complete team going into Sunday’s World Cup final. Didier Deschamps’ starstudded side used their defensive strength to squeeze the life out of Belgium’s attacking firepower on Tuesday. Samuel Umtiti headed the winner while France wasted chances to make the win more emphatic. Having seen his side beaten by Portugal in the Euro 2016 final, Lloris (above) takes nothing for granted. But he is adamant France are better than two years ago.

The Spurs keeper, who pulled off an outstanding first-half save from Toby Alderweireld, said: “I think we are complete as a team. “We can play in different ways, different styles. But the most important thing is that all the players are involved to help the team. “Our defenders scored – Raphael Varane against Uruguay and Samuel Umtiti against Belgium – that puts even more credit in their performances.

“Defensively, they have been fantastic. And they can make the difference on set-pieces so that’s a big help for the team.

“It’s an amazing feeling, but we lost a final two years ago so we must keep our feet on the floor.”
