Hilton Sa Torre POLICE have arrested two Britons and an Irishman suspected of running up a four-figure hotel bill using cloned credit cards.

The trio were held with two Germans at the fourstar ME Mallorca in Magaluf.

Their arrests came 24 hours after they were held at a five-star hotel on the Spanish island and released on bail.

They were remanded in custody after a court appearance on Tuesday.

It was alleged the accused had spent more than €11,000 at the fivestar Hilton Sa Torre before checking into ME Mallorca and being arrested again on Sunday.

Civil Guard investigators are said to have seized a card cloning machine.

One of the five men held is believed to be a minor.

Detectives said the suspects were alleged to have defrauded hotels of around €2,000 each.

They were arrested allegedly using stolen cars close to Girona.

Officers said one of the vehicles they were using had been reported stolen.

Four men and a woman aged 27 to 29 were held.
