MMA superstar Conor Mcgregor was yesterday ordered to do five days’ community service in the US after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct.

The Dubliner, 30, must also complete an anger management course and pay for damage to the bus he attacked in New York.

Mcgregor, who was spared jail when a judge accepted his plea deal, spoke pf his relief outside court.

He added: “I just want to say I am thankful to the [District Attorney] and the judge for allowing me to move forward.

“I want to say to my friends, my family and my fans, thank you for supporting me.”

Mcgregor, one of the world’s richest sportsman, was charged with assault and criminal mischief in April after he attacked the bus carrying rival fighters in Brooklyn.

The Notorious agreed to five days of community service and to take anger management classes.

He was also issued with orders of protection against Jason Ledbetter and fighters Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa who were hurt in the incident, meaning Mcgregor cannot go near them until July 2020.

All felony counts against the Crumlin fighter were dismissed and he could return to the octagon on October 6 against lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Mcgregor arrived at the King County Supreme Criminal Courthouse shortly after 8am accompanied by tailor and business partner David August and manager Audie

SUPPORT Fan in Brooklyn Attar. His 25-year-old friend and co-defendant, Dalkey’s Cian Cowley, also admitted a disorderly conduct charge and got three days’ community service and anger management.

A statement from the Brooklyn DA office read: “This is a fair resolution that holds the defendant accountable, ensures restitution for the victims.

“And [it] requires the defendant to perform community service where he can reflect on his conduct and give back to society.”

He had previously attended court in New York last month when he asked for longer to agree a plea deal.

While a prison sentence was always considered unlikely, there were fears he would be unable to enter the United States.

But this agreement means Mcgregor will not have a criminal record, leaving him free to return to mixed martial arts for the first time since November 2016 when he became the first fighter in the UFC to hold two belts simultaneously.

Mcgregor then fought boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in the ring last August in a bout he lost but which earned him up to €100million.

Conor’s partner Dee Devlin confirmed last week she is pregnant with the couple’s second child.
