Oh what fun we had but did it really turn out bad. All I learnt at school was how to bend not break the rules.

British ska-pop legends Madness and their back-catalogue of sublime 80’s hits including Baggy Trousers, Houser Of Fun, It Must Be Love, and Our House are back on Irish soil this weekend for two huge gigs.

Suggs and co tonight play a ‘Galway International Arts Festival and Roisin Dubh presents...’ sold-out concert at the Festival Big Top, Fisheries Field. lthe Nutty Boys will then take to the stage of Dublin’s 3Arena tomorrow night, tickets €48.90, available at Ticketmaster.com.

Next year will be the 40th anniversary of Madness’s debut single One Step Beyond.

Formed in the late 70’s and throughout the 80’s Madness enjoyed a strong of classic hits.

Following a hiatus at the end of the decade, Madness reformed in 1992 and since then have performed everywhere from the roof of Buckingham

Palace to the London Olympics, the ever popular House of Fun Weekender becoming one of most popular live acts on the circuit.

No stranger to the Irish festival scene, Madness played

Electric Picnic in 2009 and 2017 blasting out a greatest hits set peppered with some lesser known tunes alongside serious spectacles of dancing.

If you’re in the West for the Galway Arts Festival but have missed out on Madness tickets check out Australian indie folk female four-piece All Our Exes Live in Texas.

The band, a summit of leading Australian singer-songwriters – Elana Stone, Katie Wighton, Hannah Crofts, Georgia Mooney - originally joined forces for an O Brother Where Art Thou? tribute show in 2013. Since then they have toured the globe, headlining their own shows, and supporting Backstreet Boys, Passenger, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, and Midnight Oil. They have also recorded with Kesha on her single Praying.

lthey play Róisín Dubh, tickets €14-€16.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Dan Snaith’s Canadian outfit Caribou plays their only Irish performance in 2018 and first Galway gig in 10 years.

With the promise of killer tunes Can’t Do Without

You, Odessa, Silver, Our

Love, Melody Day and

Sun are sure to set the

Heineken Big Top sizzling on Sunday and bringing this year’s event to a close.
