Circles returns for it’s second edition tonight until Sunday. Last year’s two day event saw Kerri Chandler, Ben Klock, The Black Madonna & Sunil Sharpe headline at District 8 culminating with a climatic closing party at Index.

Tonight is the opening party at District 8 which features Detroit legend Moodymann, followed by a 12 hour all dayer into the night (3pm - 3am) event on Saturday, also at District 8 sporting a lineup that includes headliner Dave Clarke, Bjarki, Helena Hauff, DJ Stingray, Sunil Sharpe, Anetha & DEFEKT.

Local talent also shines brightly over the course of the weekend with DJ sets and live performances from TR One, Sage, FRACTAL, Cailin, Moduse, Mode_1, Aeron, Jasmin Azarian, Niall Cleary, Twitch DJS, Daire Carolan, Eavan, Ngoni Egan, Pear, Odious and many more.

Sunday features a three hour set from Kompakt’s German superstar Michael Mayer down at PYG €22/€30/€10 are the day to day price breakdowns. So it might be something you can get your teeth into sometime this weekend.

Tonight PYG host monthly resident New Jackson. New Jackson should need little in the way of introduction. There are precious few artists like David Kitt that can lay claim to having put out records on labels as divergent as Rough Trade and John Talabot’s Hivern Discs.

Perhaps this is because Kitt is able to express such genuine diversity in his musical tastes and creative explorations.

Since the turn of the decade as New Jackson the Dublin musician has mined a seam of driving, ghostly house to run parallel with his solo strand of ambient folk electronica.

His debut From Night To Night was released on All City in May last year and was recorded in Kitt’s bedroom studio overlooking Dublin Bay, its nocturnal hues very much a product of the nightshift often working on headphones with the rest of his housemates fast asleep.

It takes full advantage of the scope of the LP format, ebbing and flowing between deep house club ready gems and more restrained and meditative beatless moments for the morning after. With his sets at PYG well established since last year he finishes off July with Fiona Fahey

(Fio Fa) and Justyna Koss in the bar for the preparty vibes. Admission €5.

After catching the attention of Dirtybird head honcho, Claude Vonstroke, Fisher takes to the Button Factory for Abstract tomorrow night along side Josh Coakley.

Admission is €15, doors 11pm.
