TARA Lee is the latest Irish acting bombshell to rock Walford after joining the Eastenders cast. The 23-year-old made her debut on the BBC soap this week as quirky Jessica Jones – a potential love interest for undertaker Jay Brown.

Tara’s character was introduced as she applied to be Jay’s new house mate.

The Dubliner, who previously starred alongside Jamie Dornan in The Fall, said she’s sworn to secrecy over her role as she opened up about the intense filming process.

Tara told the Irish Daily Mirror: “I can’t give anything really away about the character but I got really passionate about who she was and and I had some really good discussions with them.

“I got a call about five days later that I got the part, I was really happy.”

The star, who is also a singer songwriter, revealed working on the soap is like nothing she has ever done before.

She added: “There was maybe two weeks between getting the role and beginning to shoot – it was all very fast because they have such a quick turn around.

“Even the filming parts, it’s the quickest I’ve ever done anything. They do up to 15 scenes a day which I’ve never experienced.” Tara, who also appeared in RTE’S Raw and the movie Moon Dog, shares most of her scenes with actors Perry Fenwick and Jamie Borthwick and said they were “really helpful” as she learned the ropes.

She added: “I worked a lot with Perry who plays Billy Mitchell and Jamie who plays Jay and they’re the loveliest guys.”
