MEGHAN Markle’s family has branded her “cruel and inhumane” for allegedly snubbing their dad.
It came after Thomas Markle Senior claimed Meghan told him he could not make a speech at her wedding to Prince Harry as there would be “no room” for it in the Windsor Castle extravaganza.
Last night her half-brother Tom Jnr, 51, told the Mirror he feared she has changed since joining the royal family.
He said: “Throughout our lives, dad always put Meg first, above me and my sister, but if what he is saying is true it appears she is abusing his love for her.
“It’s selfish, cruel even. He gave her everything and now she is giving him nothing but hurt back.
Mr Markle, 74, said he was devastated at not even receiving a formal invitation to his daughter’s wedding.
He said: “Like any father, I wanted to say a few words. I was going to recount how she broke the news to me about dating Harry: ‘Daddy, I’ve met a man... Daddy, he’s English... Daddy, he’s a prince.’
“I thought it was a cute story. I was going to thank the royals for welcoming my beautiful daughter into their family.
“But it was a speech that I was never going to be allowed to give. That hurt.”
Tom Jnr lashed out at his sister’s treatment of Mr Markle, saying: “They say blood is thicker than water, but perhaps the blue blood of the royals now runs through Meg’s veins. It’s heartbreaking to see how this has changed her and the devastation it has caused to my family.
“Anyone who saw Meg when she was growing up knew her and my dad were inseparable. Now it looks as though they may never speak again.”
Mr Markle Snr claims his three-month rift with ex-suits actress Meghan, 37, began when she told him to stop speaking to eldest daughter Samantha, after she publicly criticised her.
He said: “Meghan asked me to tell Samantha to stop talking about her and then asked me to stop talking to Samantha. I have two daughters. I can’t stop talking to one of them.
“No father should be asked to turn his back on their children. I love Meghan but I also love Samantha.”
Samantha, 53, last night launched a withering attack on her half-sister, saying: “There would be no just reason for her not to want him in her life, as he was good enough to use to make her everything she is. She should be grateful. Her diplomacy skills suck and are inhumane. If you treat your own father like this, Harry is next.”
She added: “Freezing people out is the best way of hiding the truth.”
Outspoken Samantha, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, ensured her comments were received by courtiers after tweeting her thoughts directly to Kensington Palace. She added: “There is no room for a greedy arrogant, deceitful fake humanitarian on this world stage.
“How dare she? Disgusting.” Heartbroken Mr Markle revealed he sent two cards to Meghan for her birthday on August 4, via Federal Express
and addressed to “Duchess Meghan” at the palace.
In one of the cards he pleaded with her to believe the heart attack that prevented him attending her wedding was real, following claims he faked it as a way to garner sympathy after posing in paparazzi pictures for cash.
Their feud deepened when he slammed the phone down on Prince Harry after he was found to have lied to the royal about faking the photos.
The award-winning lighting director said he suffered a heart attack just days before the May 19 wedding after his paparazzi deal emerged.
Though he had never met the prince, the pair had enjoyed a series of “warm and chatty’” conversations.
During the talks, they discussed how best to handle news of their romance when it became public – and the prince stressed that he should avoid the paparazzi at all costs.
“Harry told me I should never go to the press. That it would end in tears,” Mr Markle said. “He said, ‘They will eat you alive.’ He was right.”
But Mr Markle, on the advice of Samantha, entered into a deal with a British photographer. Together they faked four sets of pictures of him reading a book on Britain, working out on an exercise bike, being measured for a suit and looking at pictures of Meghan online.
They are said to have earned €110,000, with Mr Markle taking a small cut. A fifth set, of the pensioner at the home of his ex, Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland, was scuppered when other photographers happened to be at the property when he delivered flowers. After the photos were published Harry, 33, grew suspicious over their authenticity, but Mr Markle assured him they were genuine and he had not colluded with the paparazzi.
It led to a statement being made by Kensington Palace through the press watchdog asking for the pensioner’s privacy to be respected.
But less than 48 hours later CCTV footage emerged showing Mr Markle setting up the pictures with the photographer.
The couple called Mr Markle again,
though by then he was in hospital recovering from the heart attack. Harry told him: “If you had listened to me this would never have happened.”
Mr Markle said he replied: “‘Maybe it would be better for you guys if I was dead, then you could pretend to be sad’. Then I hung up.”
His account of the events contrasts with a previous interview on Good Morning Britain, where he said: “I spoke to them both and I apologised.
“I realised it was a serious mistake. They were very forgiving, it wasn’t that difficult. Both Harry and Meghan were very forgiving about it.”
On reflection Mr Markle, who lives in Rosarito, Mexico, admits Harry was “absolutely right” to criticise him. He said: “I’m not mad at Harry. I’m not mad at Meghan. I love them. I wish them well. But as for the rest of it, f*** it. I’m done.” He said he is now planning to flee his home in Mexico to live “in a place where no one can find me and nobody knows me”.
Meghan’s mum was reportedly preparing to move to London to be near her.
Sources close to the Duchess of Sussex say yoga teacher Doria, 61, is “the only” family member she now speaks to, after all trust on her father’s side has “eroded away”.
The mother and daughter are now said to be closer than ever as the war with her father and his family shows no signs of abating.
