Floyd’s dad reveals talks of rematch with Conor
Conor Mcgregor FLOYD Mayweather’s father believes his son and Conor Mcgregor could fight again.
The undefeated boxing legend and the Dubliner faced off in a multi-million dollar bout last year and recently reignited a war of words on social media.
Mayweather Snr thinks his 41-year-old son wants another shot at the Notorious, but not under MMA rules.
He told US sports reporter Helen Yee: “They are talking like him and Mcgregor are going to fight.
“I don’t know for sure but I’m just saying the way things are sounding to me. Sounds like he (my son) wants to fight again.”
The two met in a boxing match 13 months ago and there had been suggestions a rematch could come under MMA conditions, but Mayweather Snr does not think that will happen.
He added: “I think they are going to fight the same way [boxing rules].
“I think that Conor Mcgregor wants to get that win back he had, which is never coming back to him anyway.”
Former two-weight champion Mcgregor, 30, makes his long-awaited UFC return next month.
