IT’S COLE COMFORT.. AND ARTER WANTS BACK

- BY MICHAEL SCULLY

IRELAND skipper Seamus Coleman will be available for the Nations League clashes with Denmark and Wales next month.

And Harry Arter is expected to be back in harness after he was encouraged by his Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock to return to Martin O’neill’s squad.

Coleman, 29, sustained a stress fracture in his foot in the 4-1 defeat to Wales last week and it was feared he could be out for six to eight weeks.

However Everton boss Marco Silva believes the

Donegal man will be fit again within a fortnight.

“It is one or two weeks, nothing more,” said Silva.

Meanwhile Warnock’s intervention came after a dramatic summer fall-out that prompted Arter to take a break from international football ahead of Ireland’s 4-1 Nations League loss to Wales and the 1-1 friendly draw with Poland.

“Harry wants to play for Ireland and I’m sure it will all be ironed out,” said Bluebirds boss Warnock.

“I spoke to Harry about the situation and my advice to him was to get on with his football. He loves his country and he wants to play for them again.

“You get rows like this a lot of the time. I had two players trying to kill each other the other day, so you get it everywhere. I’m sure Martin will make sure this will be sorted in the next few weeks.”

Speaking at his pre-game press conference, Warnock was complimentary towards Keane. He said: “Roy is Roy, isn’t he? When I got the sack at Sheffield United the only guy who spoke to me was Roy.

“I will never forget that. I thought that was a bit of class. I’m sure Roy will deal with this situation in the right way in the cold light of day.”

James Mccarthy has also resumed full training with Everton although it is not expected to be back in time for the next couple of internationals.

The midfielder suffered tibia and fibula fractures in his leg in January.
