Met Eireann warns Callum set to strike tomorrow

And Met Eireann has warned the weather system “has the potential to develop into something nasty”.
Ali claimed two lives on Wednesday before the country was fortunate to escape the worst of Bronagh’s gales.
However, the third named storm to hit is not far away with temperatures set to plummet to single figures today.
Met Eireann’s Joan Blackburn said it could strike late tonight or early tomorrow morning.
She added: “The weather system is being kept under review and some models predict it may not develop into a storm.
“We are aware of it and keeping a close eye on it.”
Weather charts predict a wet start to the weekend, although it will gradually brighten up during the morning with sunny spells.
Met Eireann said: “Windy for a time in the south with fresh and gusty northerly winds but winds

will ease everywhere as the day progresses. Cool, with maximum temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.
“Tonight will be cloudy and wet with rain becoming widespread. Minimum temperatures six to 10 degrees.
“Winds mostly moderate easterly but becoming windy along southern, western and some eastern coasts.”
Turning to tomorrow, they added: “Widespread rain at first, heavy in places, but brightening up gradually from the west during the morning with sunny spells.
“Windy for a time in the south with fresh and gusty northerly winds, but winds will ease everywhere as the day progresses. Cool, with maximum temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.”
The Met Office has already issued status yellow warnings for tomorrow, saying: “Between 9am and 11.59pm there is potential for another very windy spell across parts of the UK.”
