Bacteria alert on pesto jars

A BATCH of basil pesto has been recalled after dangerous bacteria was detected in jars.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued the alert over the product from Cabots of Westport.

It has a use-by date of September 24, 2018.

Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores that sold the batch.

Symptoms of listeriosi­s include muscle aches, fever, flu-like symptoms, nausea, and diarrhoea.
