Sioux Nation ready to be World’s best for O’brien

-

SIOUX NATION (nb) can make the most of a drop in class to lift the Group 3 World Trophy Stakes (3.30) at Newbury today.

The Aidan O’brien-trained son of Scat Daddy has kept some lofty company since winning in this grade at Naas back in May.

And last Sunday Sioux Nation ran a cracker to finish third, beaten half a length and a neck, to Havana Grey in the toplevel Flying Five Stakes over five furlongs at the

Curragh.

Ryan Moore’s mount, a Group 2 scorer when capturing Royal Ascot’s

Norfolk Stakes as a twoyear-old, faces a less taxing assignment here and is fancied to return to winning ways.

Moore should also hit the target aboard MIRAGE DANCER in the Dubai Duty Free Legacy Cup Stakes (2.20). The ease with which the Sir Michael Stoute trainee brushed aside his rivals in the Glorious Stakes at Goodwood last time suggests he can make a light of a penalty for that win.

Northern raider TRUE MASON makes appeal in the Group 2 Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes (2.55). Karl Burke’s juvenile ran third to Pretty Pollyanna in the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville last month and should have further progress up his sleeve.

Andrew Balding’s PIVOINE has plenty going for him in the Dubai Duty Free Handicap (1.45).

At Ayr, QUICK LOOK is capable of racking up a hat-trick by landing the William Hill Ayr Silver Cup (2.40).

The William Hill Firth Of Clyde Stakes (3.15) looks a good opportunity for QUEEN JO JO, while BORODIN gets the nod in the William Hill Supporting The Fight Against Parkinson’s Handicap (2.00).
