Summer’s on Hand for Danny

-

IN THE most recent Ayr Gold Cup (3.50) to be staged at its spiritual home (it was held at Haydock last year due to a waterlogged track), Brando carried 9st 10lb to victory.

But there looks to be nothing with his potential here today, so it may be worth looking further down the handicap for the winner.

We need to look for horses who have the following stats:

■ Run in the past 28 days.

■ Aged four to six.

■ Have official ratings between 108 and 97.

Also important is the draw, which is strongly in favour of horses starting away from either rail.

By eliminating those drawn from one to seven and 21 to 25, we have a shortlist of six.

SUMMERGHAND has similar chance to Growl on York form, yet is three times the price at 33-1 with Hills (six places).

Danny Tudhope’s (above) mount shapes like the right type for this, as does TOMMY TAYLOR

(22-1 with Coral), so have 2pts ew on both.
