Shamrock Rovers’ tribute to tragic superfan Kyle
A SCHOOLBOY has died from a suspected asthma attack.
Soccer starlet Kyle Finnegan, 12, died after falling ill at his Dublin home on Friday.
A spokesman for Shamrock Rovers, the club he supported, said: “We are deeply saddened at the
news of the sudden passing of young Kyle Finnegan who was a regular in the East Stand supporting Rovers.
“Our condolences go to the Finnegan family and all of Kyle’s many friends. Rest In Peace.”
The boy’s former club Jobstown Celtic paid their own tribute at underage matches over the weekend.
A spokesman wrote: “We will be having a minute’s silence tomorrow before our game with Kilnamanagh.
“Can as many friends and family of the team show their respect and support to Kyle and his family if they’re free to do so. Thank you all. RIP little Maestro.”
Paying tribute Kyle’s aunt Nikita Finnegan wrote: “Rip my little nephew I love you loads.”
His cousin Aaron Finnegan posted: “Heartbroken. You always had a smile on your face and would give me the thumbs up while I drove by. We will always remember you.”
Kyle’s friends also took to social media to post tributes. One wrote: “Why is God so cruel? My heart is broken to pieces”
Another said: “I still can’t believe you’re gone Kylo. You took all of Tallaght’s heart with u brother.”
Kyle’s funeral will take place on Wednesday in Jobstown church.
