Judge ‘victim No2’

- BY CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN US Editor chris.bucktin@mirror.co.uk

A SECOND woman has come forward to accuse Donald Trump’s US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.

Deborah Ramirez, a Yale University classmate of the judge, claims he “thrust his penis in her face and caused her to touch it without her consent” at a party.

Judge Kavanaugh, 53, has denied her allegation, labelling it “a smear”.

Last night, US lawyer Michael Avenatti claimed that he will produce a third woman with “credible information” against Mr Kavanaugh.

Mr Avenatti, who also represents actress Stormy Daniels in her claims she had an affair with Mr Trump, said he had sent details to Mike Davis, the chief counsel for nominations for the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Last week, Prof Christine Blasey Ford alleged the judge had sexually assaulted her in the 1980s. She will testify before Professor Ford the Senate Committee on Thursday. Mr Kavanaugh refutes her claims.

The make-up of the nine-judge Supreme Court is crucial, as it has the final say on contentious laws. Before Donald Trump yesterday

Mr Kavanaugh can take up the seat, he has to be approved by the 21-strong Judiciary Committee and then the whole Senate. But Dianne Feinstein, the Democratic Senator on the committee, wants “immediate postponement of further proceedings” relating to Mr Kavanaugh’s nomination. Republicans want the vote accelerated, fearing any delay could see them lose the majority vote the judge needs. Mr Trump hit out yesterday at allegations against his nominee. The President criticised the two women, Ms Ramirez and Prof Ford, for waiting so long to speak out. Mr Trump said: “Judge Kavanaugh is an outstanding person and I am with him all the way.

“For people to come out of the woodwork from 36 years ago and 30 years ago, it’s totally political.” Judge Brett Kavanaugh
