KRIS: WE HAVE SCOT RODGERS FIGURED OUT..

- BY KEITH JACKSON BY GAVIN BERRY

KILMARNOCK striker Kris Boyd reckons the rest of Scottish football has got Brendan Rodgers sussed.

Boyd was on the bench at Rugby Park on Sunday watching his side rock the champions with a 2-1 win which has left Celtic languishing in sixth spot in the league.

And the former Rangers striker rubbed salt in the wounds yesterday when he insisted the tactics which Rodgers employed to dominate the domestic scene for two years now make his team predictable.

Boyd (inset) said: “The big thing Celtic face now is that we all know how to play against them.

“Only Rangers fans will demand that their team comes out and takes Celtic on head-to-head.

“The rest of the clubs know there is a way to play against Celtic now. We’ll sit in, we’ll frustrate them.

“If you make the pitch as narrow as you possibly can, NEIL LENNON is convinced Celtic will recover from their worst league start in 20 years to win eight-in-a-row.

The Hoops’ early season slump has led to talk of an end to their title dominance but the Hibs boss

(inset) doesn’t agree.

Lennon – who won 16 titles as a Celtic player and manager – said: “I still think Celtic will win the league, simply because of their drop off the game and let Celtic have the ball it’s very, very difficult for them to break you down because they don’t have that big, physical, strong striker that a lot of successful teams do. That’s because Brendan won’t change it.

“If you go back to the Celtic teams of old they had the likes of Jan Venegoor of Hesselink. You could throw the ball into the box and have Scott Mcdonald running round about him.

“Even the days of Hartson and Sutton. You could throw the ball and you had Larsson in round about them as well.

“Celtic don’t have that at the moment. If they don’t play through you, don’t cut you wide open then they are going to struggle to score.

“The Celtic players look as if they are scared to give the ball away.

“It’s going to make for an interesting league because Rangers have definitely turned the corner.” strength in depth.

“With the investment Rangers have made in their squad and the improvement of other clubs, it will be far more competitive.

“It takes a lot of mental strength and consistency to win a title. “And you need to be able to handle the big games, the pressure games, better than most. Over the last couple of years, Celtic have done that better than anybody – by a long, long way.”
