Gosden’s girl Able to cane her l’arc foes

-

ENABLE will take all the beating in the Qatar Prix de l’arc de Triomphe tomorrow.

The star filly missed most of the season through injury but returned to action with an emphatic win in the September Stakes at Kempton last month.

She should come on a lot for that and be primed for a massive run here.

John Gosden’s four-year-old won this contest in superb fashion 12 months ago under a brilliant ride from Frankie Dettori.

It could be another Arc win for the team of Gosden and Dettori, who are bidding for their third win in the race in the past four years.

Coolmore famously recorded a 1-2-3 in this contest in 2016 and are once again mob-handed here.

I quite like the looks of each-way at a big price.

The Galileo colt finished fifth over course and distance a few weeks ago, but Aidan O’brien’s horses are in fine form and I can see this lad going close.

And RHODENDRON can blossom for the same trainer in the Prix de l’opera having won this contest 12 months ago.

Donnacha O’brien takes the ride, with Ryan Moore partnering MAGIC WAND. Meanwhile, BATTAASH should take all the beating at short odds in the Prix de l’abbaye, if he is at his best.

He was disappointing in the Nunthorpe at York last time, but looks very hard to oppose here.

Elsewhere, Laurens has been one of the horses of the season and can follow his Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes win at the Curragh with another Group One victory in today’s Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

She ran a cracking race under Daniel Tudhope to come home ahead of the brilliant Alpha Centauri, who had to be retired following the race after picking up an injury.

Also today, FIRST ELEVEN can follow up his course and distance win last time out with another in the Stella Artois Cumberland Lodge Stakes at Ascot, while LIMATO could prove difficult to beat in the other Group 3 contest on the card – the John Guest Racing Bengough Stakes.

Henry Candy’s runner has enjoyed the drop in class for his two most recent starts to win both and could make it three-ina-row here.

LIMATO (9/4) winner’s Limato has returned to the enclosure lately. The six-year-old his can prove much better than opposition at a decent price.
