Broke Price is in the €1k dog’s house

- BY SAM ELLIOTT BY EOIN REYNOLDS

Katie Price KATIE Price has reportedly spent €1,000 on a puppy despite allegedly facing financial ruin.

The troubled model, 40, was said to be heartbroken when her beloved Germany Shepherd Queenie was killed by a pizza delivery driver.

A source said: “She’s not got that kind of money to spend but everyone is supporting her as a puppy would keep her busy and stop her partying.

“She sold off loads of her animals but she thinks a dog would help take her mind off everything going on in her life right now.”

Price’s application for an individual voluntary agreement – keeping her mansion safe from repossession – will be heard on October 30.

The 39-year-old’s guilty plea was accepted by the State.

Mr Gavin was stabbed to death outside an Abrakebabra takeaway on Dublin’s Crumlin Road on August 25, 2001.

Rattigan was convicted of the 21-year-old’s murder in 2009 but the ruling was successfully appealed last year.

When arraigned yesterday on the same charge, the well-known criminal from Drimnagh in Dublin replied: “Not guilty to murder, guilty of manslaughter.”

State prosecutor Pauline Walley said the plea was acceptable.

Defence lawyer Brendan Grehan added: “He is sorry to the Gavin family and anyone else hurt by his actions.”

Justice Michael White told the victim’s relatives they will have a chance to speak of the effect the killing has had on them when the sentence hearing takes place on December 20.

POSSESSION

Two weeks ago, Rattigan had an appeal dismissed against his conviction for directing the supply of drugs from prison.

He had pleaded not guilty at the non-jury Special Criminal Court to possession of heroin and two counts of possession of the drug for sale or supply on Hughes Road South in Walkinstown, Dublin, on May 21, 2008.

The three judges agreed with the prosecution case that he was the director of a gang conducting a €1million heroin deal.

In 2013 he became the first person to be found guilty of charges connected to directing the supply of drugs from behind bars.

During the trial Rattigan was cleared of two counts relating to the possession of two mobile phones while an inmate at Portlaoise Prison on May 22, 2008.

Rattigan was sentenced to 17 years after the court heard evidence of the 3,972 drug-related deaths in Ireland between 2004 and 2010.
